Rio Coyote features two separate accommodations, the Bamboo House and guest house, located on our private 5 acre coffee farm in the world-famous breathtaking Poas Costa Rica area.
Bamboo House
This is a one of a kind structure built by the great Costa Rican Bamboo builder, Martin Coto. The support of the structure is entirely from bamboo and the walls are bamboo mesh with earth plaster. We really loved the idea of using the dirt from the property as part of the walls. The effect is so warm and beautiful we were thrilled with the results.

The house is set in the center of our working organic coffee farm. Very private and peaceful you’ll be the only guests. It is solar powered as is the entire farm. The house has spectacular views of Poas volcano and the central valley. You will enjoy just walking on the property and strolling down to the river. The farm is conveniently located near many surrounding artisan towns that provide plenty of potential day trips. See our recommended activities and attractions.
We can help you arrange to visit some of Central Americas most spectacular active volcanoes. Relax in the complete privacy and quiet of the farm while eating food and drinking coffee grown on the property. Participating in a coffee harvest and learning how to roast coffee can all part of the experience.

The property was so clean, with a wonderful hillside view and beautiful landscaping throughout.
The Bamboo house was much nicer than the pictures illustrated and the bed was extremely comfortable. Humming birds in the mornings and early evenings kept us company, and it was very nice and quiet, no sounds of vehicles. The bathroom was very nice and the shower was awesome, with high windows all around to see the mountain and hillside while enjoying a hot shower. There is even a fire pit and chairs to sit out under the stars and enjoy.
The kitchen was well appointed with a 4 burner gas range, and oven. We made many meals and had everything we needed. Its about 15 minutes to a market for groceries, and about 5 minutes to a corner store should you need anything urgent. ~ Benny, Airdrie, Canada

The place was well maintained and the caretaker obviously takes great pride in the job he does. Jose Luis was right there for everything we needed whether it was information on how to get around or arranging the transportation.
He had interesting facts about the coffee plantation as well as Costa Rica itself. He provided us with fresh eggs from his chickens for breakfast and an awesome night of guitar playing and singing. ~ suearmand
